Privacy notice
Last updated 25 October 2026
Quicko stores as little about you as it can: your email address, a scrambled form of your password, and the courses you make. Your GPS track never leaves your phone. This notice covers the website at quicko.nu, the app at app.quicko.nu and the Quicko watch app.
Who is responsible
Quicko is run by Mads Andreasen, a private person in Denmark, who is the data controller. Write to hello@quicko.nu about anything in this notice.
What is stored, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| If you ask for an invite on quicko.nu: your name, email address, club and message | To answer your request | Until it's answered, then deleted |
| Your email address and the name on your invite | To let you log in, and so we know who the testers are | Until your account is deleted |
| Your password, stored only as an Argon2 hash | To check your login. The password itself is never stored. | Until your account is deleted |
| When you last used the app | To see whether testers are still active during the beta | Until your account is deleted |
| Courses you make: the controls, the map they're on and the course settings | So you can open, share, print and run them | Until the course is deleted. Courses aren't tied to your account. |
| Feedback you send from the app, with the page you sent it from and your browser's name | To fix what you report and to answer you | Until it's dealt with, then deleted |
| Technical logs from the server and hosting provider, such as request times, addresses visited and IP addresses | To keep the service running and find errors | A short period, normally days |
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the beta and answering people who ask to join it (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). Your account exists because you accepted an invite.
What stays on your device
When you run a course, your GPS positions, your track and the controls you've punched are kept only in your phone's browser storage, and are never sent to Quicko. The same goes for the keys that let you edit your own courses. Clearing the browser's site data removes all of it.
The watch app downloads a course by its watch code and runs it on the watch. Your position stays on the watch, and your activity is saved to Garmin Connect like any other activity, under Garmin's own terms.
Cookies
Quicko sets one cookie, quicko_session, which keeps you logged in for up to 180 days. It's strictly necessary, so it needs no consent. The website at quicko.nu sets no cookies, has no tracking and loads nothing from other sites. If we add analytics later, it will only run with your consent, and this notice will say so first.
Who else handles it
- Fly.io hosts the server and its database, in Stockholm, Sweden. Fly.io is an American company, and transfers are covered by its data processing agreement and the EU's standard contractual clauses.
- Gigahost (Denmark) delivers mail sent to @quicko.nu addresses.
Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what's stored about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account to be deleted. Mail hello@quicko.nu from the address you log in with. If you think your data is handled wrongly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.
